As a Maintenance Supervisor 2, you would supervise the operation and maintenance of the physical plant of small state facilities, off-site facilities, or community residences. You would prepare detailed plans and specifications and estimates for small alteration and repair projects. You would supervise and inspect the execution of plans and instruct subordinates in general building construction and maintenance. You would prepare reports and identify mechanical and maintenance needs. Maintenance of roads, grounds, and related equipment might also be your responsibility.

Salary Range:
From $53568 to $68192 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Candidates must be reachable for appointment from the current Civil Service eligible list for the title; OR Transfer Opportunity - Candidates must have one year of permanent service as a Maintenance Supervisor 2, Grade 17, and be eligible for lateral transfer; OR Candidates must have one year of permanent service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law. In the event that there is not a valid eligible list at this location, candidates who meet either the Promotion or Open-Competitive minimum qualifications for the Maintenance Supervisor 2 examinations may apply and if hired, will be provisionally appointed. Qualifications:
You must be a qualified employee of New York State and have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service as Either A. a Maintenance Supervisor 1, Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Building), Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Electronic Equipment), Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Fish Hatchery), Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Motor Equipment), Maintenance Supervisor 1 (Toll Equipment), Park Supervisor 2, Plant Utilities Engineer 1, Plant Utilities Engineer 2, Public Buildings Manager 1, Sign Shop Supervisor 1, Supervising Carpenter, Supervising Electrician, Supervising Mason and Plasterer, Supervising Painter, Supervising Plumber and Steamfitter, Supervisor General Services Grounds Operations and Horticulture 1, or Supervisor Marine Equipment Repair; Or B. a Carpenter, Electrician, Electronic Equipment Mechanic, General Mechanic, General Mechanic Trades Training Program, Grounds Construction Supervisor, Head Grounds Supervisor, Head Janitor, Locksmith, Machinist, Mason and Plasterer, Motor Equipment Mechanic, Painter, Park Sanitation Superintendent, Park Supervisor 1, Plumber and Steamfitter, Plumber and Steamfitter Trades Training Program, Refrigeration Mechanic, Roofer and Tinsmith, Senior Filter Plant Operator, Supervisor Grounds, Vocational Instructor (all levels), Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator 3, Welder, Bridge Repair Mechanic, Sheet Metal Worker, Upholsterer, Sign Painter, Automotive Body Mechanic, Laboratory Mechanic, or Correctional Industries Installation and Repair Technician. Qualifications:
You must have two years of experience supervising other workers in any of the areas listed below:
1. maintenance and operation of a physical plant; Or 2. building construction; Or 3. building renovation and/or repair projects.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
