STANDARD DUTIES:
The Labor Services Representative (LVER)/Trainee will:
o conduct outreach to businesses and engage in advocacy efforts with hiring executives to increase employment opportunities for veterans; o encourage the hiring of disabled veterans; o assist veterans to gain and retain employment; o promote the advantages of hiring veterans to businesses, business associations, and business groups; o advocate for all veterans served by the Career Centers and ensure easier access to appropriate employment and training services for job seeking veterans in their local market areas.

Salary Range:
From $20.59 to $24.29 Hourly
Minimum Qualification
MINIMUM
Qualifications:
A bachelor's or higher degree AND o You must be a veteran of the U.S. Armed Services who served on active duty for over 180 days for purposes other than training (unless you were released from active duty because of a service-connected disability) and an honorable discharge or under conditions in the NYS Restoration of Honor Act ; OR o You must either be the spouse of a person in the U.S. Armed Services who died of service-connected disabilities, the spouse of certain active duty individuals forcibly detained or listed as missing in action, or the spouse of a 100% disabled veteran ; OR o You must have served as a member of a reserve component in the U.S. Armed Services under an order to active duty during a period of war or in a campaign or expedition for which a campaign badge is authorized and an honorable discharge or under conditions in the NYS Restoration of Honor Act . Degree must be awarded by a college or university accredited by a regional, national, or specialized agency recognized as an accrediting agency by the U.S. Department of Education/U.S. Secretary of Education. If your degree was awarded by an educational institution outside the United States or its territories, you must provide independent verification of equivalency. Eligibility must be verified by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs at the time of interview. Preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
