Accounting Manager- Utica, NY
Responsible for managing the general ledger accounting functions, closing monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements, supervising A/R and A/P activities, establishing & maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures.
Other duties include:
? Collaborating with the other accounting managers to support overall department goals and objectives
? Monitoring and analyzing department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
? Advising team members regarding the handling of non-routine transactions
? Responding to inquiries regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.
? Supervising the general ledger group to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met
? Assisting in the development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department
? Providing training to new and existing team members as necessary
? Handling team member issues relating to performance issues, etc.
? Working with each team member to establish goals and objectives for each year, monitoring and advising on the progress to enhance the professional development of the team
Salary $58K-63K DOE plus full benefits package including health insurance, dental and vision insurance, and 401(k).
? Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with five to eight years' experience; MBA or CPA preferred
? Understanding of wholesale and/or retail accounting processes and procedures
? Accounting management experience
? Demonstrated reconciliation experience
? Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly
? Required to exhibit exceptional planning and organization skills
? Should be highly adaptable, detail oriented and able to work autonomously
? Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively and independently
? Ability and desire to problem solve, prioritize, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
? Experienced in the complete MS Office Suite, including advanced Excel experience (Macros, PivotTables, V-Lookups, and complex formulas)
? Experience using software systems to export and import data
