4K a year 10 days ago 10 days ago 10 days ago SUMMARY The position of Deposit Services Associate is responsible for performing defined daily functions in order to support the general processing of the operation of the bank.
Ensure compliance with procedures, security standards, and regulatory requirements established for products/services, deposit accounting, customer file maintenance and upkeep, general balancing and assigned product tasks.
Perform input, maintenance, and daily processing of deposit banking products.
Provide enthusiastic and professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Must possess knowledge of all applicable consumer compliance regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1.
Reconciliation of general ledger accounts and corresponding internal DDA accounts.
Maintain CRS items as needed.
Research and correct CRS differences on a daily basis.
2.
Responsible for personal development and timely completion of all bank assigned training, including but not limited to BSA, Compliance, Security, Information Technology, OFAC, Privacy and assigned BVS courses.
Expected to stay current with all regulatory, legal, and compliance and incorporate these into daily functions.
3.
Expected to gain a thorough knowledge of Adirondack Bank's products and services.
4.
Process all EIM and Positive Pay items.
Work in unison with Fiserv, branches, and other departments in the processing and reconciling of these items.
Process all EIM and Positive Pay items in a timely and accurate manner.
5.
Responsible for training a backup and ensuring they keep current as processing changes occur.
Assist with policy/procedure updates as applicable.
6.
Responsible for monitoring DDA and SAV deficit balance reports, generating letters/ticklers, and taking appropriate action for charging off accounts as outlined in the Deficit Balance Procedure.
7.
Review all new accounts in accordance with USA Patriot Act requirements.
Maintain existing accounts and update as needed.
Monitor dormant and inactive accounts.
Verify the input and eligibility of all new accounts opened using applicable systems.
8.
Review mobile deposits daily.
9.
Expected to meet high-quality standards in all daily functions.
10.
Act as a backup for department functions as assigned.
11.
Handle mail processing functions as assigned, and backup these functions as needed.
12.
Process and balance outside vendor items such as cash advances and gift cards.
13.
Process Fedline transactions, such as large dollar returns and Fed adjustments.
Maintain records in compliance with procedures.
14.
Assist in research inquiries for customers and branch personnel.
Adjust accounts as necessary.
Work in unison with Accounting Department and FRB in processing these adjustments.
15.
Responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting on all functions of the department.
Assist in the updating of procedures.
16.
Support and assist the Operations Division Manager and Team Leaders in special projects and assignments.
Inform manager of any internal or external problems or situations involving the department.
17.
Assist in maintaining and updating the Bank's Business Continuity Plan.
Participate in the annual BCP testing as applicable.
18.
Must be willing to work from an alternate location or from home during disasters or other events.
19.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY DUTIES The position of Deposit Services Associate may participate in (and/or be a member of) various Bank committees and projects as assigned; also performs functions specific to the position and other duties as assigned.
Assume responsibilities of others in the department as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.

High school graduate with 2 years' experience in a financial field, preferably electronic banking, or equivalent education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work related experience should consist of an operational or Accounting background and/or customer service.
Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or technical industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.
Detail oriented.
Assist in recognizing and resolving problems or unusual situations encountered during the normal course of business.
Bring any such issues to management's attention immediately.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of computers and various computer programs, i.
e.
:
Excel, Word.
Working knowledge of Regulations and Compliance issues pertaining to Deposit products/services.
Excellent customer service skills.
