9K a year Assist the Director of Facilities Management in the maintenance of all agency facilities, including upkeep & repair, codes compliance and new construction and existing renovations.
Assist the Director of Facilities Management in the oversight of all custodial duties of all agency facilities.
Assist in the oversight of day program transportation needs as well as oversight of all agency vehicles.

Responsibilities:
Ensure every agency facility is maintained in good repair in terms of upkeep, cleanliness, fire safety, structural soundness, and attractiveness for the persons it supports.
Assists in a preventative maintenance plan for each facility and update as necessary.
Assists in the development of a long range, comprehensive plan for each structure.
Along with the Director, supervises maintenance staff; instructing in several different areas of expertise such as plumbing, heating and air conditioning, electricity, fire safety, and general contracting, as needed.
Assists in monitoring and managing overtime hours.
Assists in the purchase of needed supplies and equipment.
Assists in the oversight and ensures that adequate tools are available and maintains an inventory of all agency tools and equipment, including where all tools and equipment are located at all times.
Assists in developing scopes of work for all renovation projects, following appropriate building codes.
Ability to function as a clerk of the works for agency projects.
Oversees Transportation to/from Arc Day Programs for people we support.
Participates in the hiring process for qualified CDL and non-CDL drivers.
Maintains compliance with and reporting requirements for NYS Department of Transportation, including, but not limited to, Section 5310.
Supports Residential Services transportation needs including grocery pickup and delivery, getting residents to work and back, and more using qualified non-CDL drivers.
Ensures required inspections are performed on Agency buses and other vehicles used in Transportation.
Ensures all vehicles are well maintained and are safe and clean.
Assists in the management of the custodial staff working in designated agency locations.
Be knowledgeable of cleaning equipment for large commercial buildings, which includes stripping and waxing floors.
Be knowledgeable of required cleaning products to be environmentally safe, to enhance infection control while being cost conscious.
Assists in the oversight and management of the agency vehicle fleet program.
Available to respond to all facilities emergencies (residential and commercial) at all hours of the day and night, as required.
Assist in providing input when decisions must be made concerning weather related closing and delays.
Assists in the hiring of all Facilities Management staff.
Evaluate applicable staff's performance on-going and completes a formal employee appraisal on an annual basis.
Assists in the development and review of the department budget.
Ensures staff training records are current and that staff have the proper training to adequately perform their job.
Assists in the timely completion of NYS DOT Section 5310 grant applications to secure buses each year and complete mandatory bi-annual reports.
Attend all Team Meetings
Qualifications:
High School Diploma with a minimum of eight (8) years experience in the field, (commercial and residential building construction and maintenance) or BS degree in Engineering.
Strong knowledge of regulations and codes (NYS Laws & Code Provisions, Federal and ADA Accessibility Guidelines, HUD, OPWDD, DEC, OSHA, HAZ COM, National Fire Protection Association, and National Electric Codes).
Ability to work independently and interact with a diverse workforce and work effectively as part of team.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal and customer service communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail as well as excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
Strong work ethic and sense of integrity, trustworthiness and ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
