The House of the Good Shepherd's programs include foster care, community-based services, residential services, and a special education school.
We are currently seeking on-call and in-person Physicians to provide medical services during a prescribed time period for our Residential Treatment Facility (RTF).
The RTF is a treatment program for children who may be suffering from extreme trauma and mental health issues.
The RTF provides onsite mental health and psychiatric services as well as around the clock medical services.
We are OMH certified and accredited by Joint Commission.
Contractor Service Agreement Responsibilities and Requirements:
The authorization of physical restraint with residents of the RTF involving, at minimum, verbal authorization of restraints in response to telephone contact by an RTF Nurse or alternative designee, face-to-face assessment of child's physical and emotional well-being within 30 minutes of initiation of a restraint, and documentation of same in compliance with Office of Mental Health regulations and agency and accrediting standards.
On-call telephone consultation for all other psychiatric emergencies during the prescribed time period, for residents of programs typically covered by the agency's psychiatrists including, but not limited to, verbal orders for medications when necessary, and appropriate.
Telephone orders approving Leaves of Absence (LOAs) for residents to leave the RTF program for planned visits when the RTF Psychiatrist is on leave.
Signing of telephone orders for medications and LOAs within 24 hours when the RTF Psychiatrist is on leave.
Completion of Psychiatric Progress Notes as defined by Agency policy.
Completion of the following assessments, if needed, when the RTF psychiatrist is on leave:
Admission assessments and notes Mental status examinations if deemed necessary due to psychiatric emergency 72-hour Mental Hygiene Legal Services (MHL S) retention proceedings if needed Contractor agrees to adhere to Company policies regarding corporate compliance, professional clearances and clinical competency with respect to all services provided hereunder.
Contractor agrees to maintain and provide proof of Drug Enforcement Administration Certificate.
Contractor agrees to maintain and provide proof of professional liability insurance with limits of $1,000,000 individual and $3,000,000 aggregate naming The House of the Good Shepherd as an additional insured.
Company agrees to provide Contractor of at least seven (7) calendar days of advance notice to establish dates and times of coverage as mutually defined by both parties.
Company agrees to provide a telephone report by the designated psychiatrist and/or Nursing staff regarding the status of residents vulnerable to psychiatric crises when requested by the On-Call Psychiatrist.
Company agrees to provide availability of Nursing staff and residents for in-person contacts.
