3K a year 14 days ago 14 days ago 14 days ago SUMMARY The position of Operations Legal Processing Specialist is responsible for processing all levies, restraints, subpoenas, and other legal requests in accordance with all Federal and NYS laws, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Perform all processing, monitoring, and reporting of specialized functions, such as IRAs, Funeral Trust Program, Landlord Tenant Program, Federal Backup Withholding, B Notices, and W-8 processing.
Provide enthusiastic and professional customer service to both internal and external customers.
Must possess knowledge of all applicable consumer compliance regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES 1.
Perform legal processing functions, such as levies, restraints, subpoenas, within required timeframes.
Work in conjunction with attorneys and legal staff as needed to meet legal processing guidelines, laws, and timeframes.
2.
Perform all functions related to IRAs, Funeral Trust Program, Landlord/Tenant Program, Representative Payee Program, IOLA Reporting, and other special products.
Act as support to both customers and branches on these products.
3.
Responsible for personal development and timely completion of all bank assigned training, including but not limited to BSA, Compliance, Security, Information Technology, OFAC, Privacy and assigned BVS courses.
Expected to stay current with all regulatory, legal, and compliance and incorporate these into daily functions.
4.
Process Federal Agency subpoenas in accordance with the Right to Financial Privacy Act.
5.
Responsible for updating procedures to include any changes to the NYS exempt wages and Federal protected funds.
6.
Responsible for training a backup and ensuring they keep current as processing changes occur.
Assist with policy/procedure updates as applicable.
7.
Expected to meet high-quality standards in all daily functions.
8.
Act as a backup for Deposit Services functions as needed.
9.
Assist in research and verification requests for customers and branch personnel.
10.
Perform branch indexing, mail functions, Power of Attorney and Trust Account review and authorization as assigned.
11.
Perform month end GL reconciliation, Compliance audits, and other department reporting as assigned.
12.
Perform Federal backup withholding, and B Notice, and W-8 functions within established timeframes.
Responsible for monitoring and ensuring compliance.
13.
Support and assist the Operations Division Manager and Team Leaders in special projects and assignments.
Inform manager of any internal or external problems or situations involving the department.
14.
Assist in maintaining and updating the Bank's Business Continuity Plan and participate in the annual BCP testing as applicable.
15.
Must be willing to work from an alternate location or from home during disasters or other events.
16.
Perform all other duties as assigned.
SECONDARY DUTIES The position of Operations Legal Processing Specialist may participate in (and/or be a member of) various Bank committees and projects as assigned; also performs functions specific to the position and other duties as assigned.
Assume responsibilities of others in the department as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position.

High school graduate with 2 years' experience in a financial field, preferably with legal experience.
Work related experience should consist of an operational, financial, or legal background.
Experience with NYS legal processing and IRS requirements.
Detail oriented.
Assist in recognizing and resolving problems or unusual situations encountered during the normal course of business.
Bring any such issues to management's attention immediately.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Working knowledge of computers and various computer programs, i.

Knowledge of Adirondack Bank's products and services.
Working knowledge of Regulations and Compliance issues pertaining to Deposit products/services.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
