Equipment Operator Instructor

Equipment Operator Instructors are responsible for individual and group training in the proper operation and maintenance of a wide variety of self-propelled construction equipment. This includes preparing and conducting equipment operator assessments, training for one-person plowing and other specialized snow and ice training activities. Equipment Operator Instructors are required to travel to other residencies within the region to conduct training programs. Equipment Operator Instructors report directly to Supervising Equipment Operator Instructors. NOTE:
Candidates will be required to demonstrate oral communication skills at the time of the interview. Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations.

Salary Range:
From $46529 to $59542 Annually
Minimum Qualification
To be considered for permanent appointment, candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible for reassignment or transfer in accordance with Civil Service Law. At the time of appointment and continuously thereafter, you must have a valid New York State Class A Commercial Driver's License with no air brake restriction. If a viable eligible list does not exist, a provisional appointment may be made. If you are appointed provisionally, you will have to take and pass the next Civil Service examination for this title when it is administered. Employees appointed provisionally must be reachable on the resulting eligible list for that title or their employment in the position (may have hold item) will end. The minimum requirements for taking the examination are:
1. Four years experience in the operation and maintenance of at least three of the following types of self propelled heavy construction equipment:
cranes, excavators, graders, pavement wideners, industrial or crawler-type tractors, large dump trucks with a plow and wing configuration, pavers, front end loaders, and backhoes; AND 2. Six months experience as a Recognized Instructor in the operation and maintenance of complex heavy construction equipment or trucks over thirteen tons in weight. A recognized instructor is someone who has provided classroom, shop, over-the-road or work site training on complex heavy equipment. At the time of appointment and continuously thereafter, you must have a valid New York State Class A Commercial Driver's License with no air brake restriction. A valid New York State Class B Commercial Driver's License with no air brake restriction, or its equivalent from another state or territory, will be required at the time of the performance test.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
