69 per hour JOB FUNCTION:
The Workforce Development Specialist plays an essential role in supporting new employees as they acclimate to MVCAA.
They will develop a pro-active, systems approach to contribute to the success of new hires, improve retention and ensure a positive employment experience.
Responsible for keeping employees active and engaged in training and employment and share best practices to help programs be more successful in their retention efforts.
Essential Functions:
Conduct community outreach to promote the agency and recruit potential hires.
Conduct presentations at MVCAA and the community at large.
Counsels and provides objectivity to potential candidates in the hiring, interviewing, and onboarding process.
Coordinate HR strategies with program priorities to promote a diverse workforce.
Establishes a connection with newly hired employees eliminate barriers and ensure job retention.
Provides one-on-one coaching to new employees by identifying strategies to support employee's professional development.
Engage supervisors to give support activities for employee's skill development.
Coordinate with outside professional development resources.
Create career pathways aligned with open positions in the agency.
Coordinate with WIOA resources.
Assist in the hiring process, i.

, review resumes, schedule interviews, checks references, and complete background checks.
Collects and maintains records to conform to EEO and Affirmative Action Regulations Demonstrates commitment to mission, values, and policies in the performance of daily duties.
Assist staff to gain qualifications for upward mobility.
Consults and collaborates with Directors, Coordinators or supervisors on employee's progress and results obtained.
Provide additional trainings and coordinates with program leadership.
ADDITIONAL
Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as requested by the Program Director.
Qualifications:
AA/AAS with one (1) year experience; or High School graduate with at least three (3) years business experience, preferably in a human resource environment.
BSW preferred.
Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of affirmative action and personnel work.
Ability to work with people from various backgrounds.
Good computer skills.
Ability to effectively collect and analyze data.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
